ING appoints new head of wholesale banking for APAC
Anju Abrol has over 30 years of banking experience.
ING has appointed Anju Abrol as head of wholesale banking for the Asia Pacific region, effective 1 November.
Abrol, 57, succeeds Baetens, who left ING at the end-2020. She takes over the role from REmko Witteveen, who has served as interim head until October 2021, and has left ING.

Prior to taking over as ING’s head of wholesale banking in APAC, Abrol was at Westpac Institutional Bank as the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) (2016-2018) and CRO for its international business (2014-2016) which included the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Pacific region countries.
Before that, she worked with Bank of America for almost 16 years.
Abrol will report to Andrew Bester, Head of ING Wholesale Banking globally, and be responsible for driving ING’s strategy in the Asia Pacific and the performance of the wholesale banking business across our 11 markets in the region.
