Hang Seng Bank warns against phishing email
The emails lead to a fraudulent website that may request their bank or card information.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Bank has warned the public of a phishing scam perpetrated through fake emails claiming to be from Hang Seng.
The emails come from the address lockmandan@tri-citylock[.]com. It reportedly leads customers to a fraudulent website, which may then prompt them to enter their personal, bank, or credit card information.
Hang Seng bank reminded customers that it will never request them to provide their login details through email, text, or any messaging platforms.
“The bank never requests customers to provide their personal e-Banking login, verify or cancel transactions, renew security devices, or disclose personal details such as HKID numbers, e-Banking credentials, credit card information, one-time passwords or authentication factors through email, text, or any messaging platforms,” Hang Seng Bank said in a press statement.

“Do not provide bank, credit card, investment, insurance and MPF account or other key personal information via hyperlinks embedded in suspicious messages, emails and websites, or log on to any suspicious websites purported to be coming from the bank,” it added.
Customers may enter suspicious phone numbers, web addresses or transferee account numbers on the Scameter or Scameter+ app for security checks. Those in doubt may also call the 18222 helpline for enquiries.
It further reminded bank customers to access the bank’s official website by typing the official website address into the address bar of their web browser.
